"We may never get such a chance again. If we don't buy the Morgan place someone else will--and there is no other house in the Glen we would care to have, and no other really good site on which to build. This little house is--well, it is and has been what no other house can ever be to us, I admit, but you know it is out-of-the-way down here for a doctor. We have felt the inconvenience, though we've made the best of it. And it's a tight fit for us now. Perhaps, in a few years, when Jem wants a room of his own, it will be entirely too small."
"The First Mate and I will have nothing to do till spring except keep warm and amuse ourselves. The last lighthouse keeper used always to move up to the Glen in winter; but I'd rather stay at the Point. The First Mate might get poisoned or chewed up by dogs at the Glen. It's a mite lonely, to be sure, with neither the light nor the water for company, but if our friends come to see us often we'll weather it through."

As reported by Kongbakpao, Cluck Night is an upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer game that's being published by Coconut Games and developed by Thunder Cat Games. There's no specific release date at the time of writing but you can pre-order the game for Android now, whilst it launched on iOS early last month.

It's set on a farm - the titular Cluck Night - and a team of four players will take on the role of a flock of chickens who are desperate to escape from their prison. Meanwhile, another player will take on the role of fowl herder, trying to prevent them from fleeing.
Middle aged unemployment simulator
1Button is back with another elegant but tricky puzzler called Quetzalcoatl tonight (you may remember its previous puzzler Bicolor).

The title of the game refers to the feathered serpent of Aztec mythology, if you were wondering. Which means that, yes, this is a puzzle game that contains snakes.

Well, sort of. They're not like the snakes in Sushi Snake. These ones don't have heads, nor do they eat each other as in that game.

The snakes in Quetzalcoatl are more abstract. But they have the slithery movements of snakes, and that's enough to trigger my phobia of the creatures.

That aside, Quetzalcoatl has 180 "carefully designed" puzzles for you to solve. You grab a snake's head or tail and then match the coloured dots on its body to the background tiles."There's nothing wrong with little Jem, is there, Susan?" cried Anne, starting up in alarm.
'"Among the many that mine eyes have seen,
Novasoft Interactive’s Meridian 157 is an intriguing point-and-click adventure game that sees you exploring a mysterious island to uncover its many long-lost secrets. It serves up a hearty meal of atmosphere-rich storytelling, tricky puzzling, and compelling environmental exploration.

After the release of its free-to-play prologue earlier this year, the game’s first proper chapter is now available for iOS and Android, and here are 5 reasons to give it a go.For the compelling storyMeridian 157's mysterious plot is one of its biggest strengths. You play as David Zander, a forensic meteorologist, who sets out to investigate a weather anomaly off the coast of Alaska. On arrival, it becomes clear that something is very much amiss, and you soon find yourself attempting to uncover the truth behind the secret of the 157th meridian… Whatever that may be.

Chapter 1 picks up right where the free-to-play prologue left off. If you didn't get a chance to play it over the summer, I'd advise checking it out before diving into Chapter 1. It really helps to set the scene while showing you exactly how Zander came to be trapped in the underground complex.

For the tricky and varied puzzlesMeridian 157's puzzles are all surprisingly varied, featuring a neat mix of logic-based brainteasers and grid-based shenanigans. You'll have to scour the island’s many nooks and crannies for useful items, then work out whereabouts they can be used.

Normal difficulty will offer you some slight help and hints when required, whereas Hard mode takes all of that away, requiring you to forge ahead on your own skill and intuition. This means the game can be played and enjoyed by both point-and-click veterans and newcomers alike.

Adventure game vets will find its many challenges to be well-designed and fair, with none of those decidedly illogical logic puzzles that the genre is known for, thank goodness. There are definitely some real headscratchers here, but, again, the intuitive hint system is there if/when you need it.

For the impressive visuals and handcrafted environmentsAdventure games of this type are rarely known for their visuals, but the team at NovaSoft Interactive has clearly put a ton of work into crafting each of Meridian 157's detailed environments. They're varied, atmospheric, and distinct in ways that make the island feel very much lived-in and real. You'll want to examine every inch of every room as you go about solving puzzles and investigating the complex's many secrets.

For the eerie atmosphereMeridian 157 isn't out to scare you, but that's not to say that it doesn't serve up an eerie, unnerving atmosphere all of its own. There's a constant feeling that something is deeply off with this weird little island – a concern that only intensifies as the story continues.

Through some stellar audio work, it's easy to feel isolated as you explore the inner recesses of the mysterious complex. But are you actually as alone as you feel? For the nostalgia factorSolid point-and-click adventure games like this are becoming increasingly rare to find. I'm sure fans of Myst and its many spiritual successors would agree that there's something super appealing about the old-school style of gameplay, pacing, and visuals.

That said, for all the reasons we've listed prior to now, Meridian is still very much its own thing. If you're at all a fan of the genre, or have found yourself starved for a great adventure game story, then Meridian 157 is an easy recommendation.

For all intrepid explorers out there, you'll find Meridian 157 available for download now from both the App Store and Google Play.

There has been a smattering of Pokemon Masters news today via the official Japanese Twitter account. They concern an upcoming free trainer as well as the announcement of a new Sync Pair, though the latter had been uncovered by data miners previously. Still, it's nice to hear it officially confirmed.

We'll start there as it's there's more information. Steven & Metagross will be added to the game on 14th February. If the details found through the data mine is to be believed - which you can read over on Gamepress - Metagross will be a physical strike Pokemon that is capable of mega evolving when it uses its Sync Move. It will come with several moves to buff itself, one that increases attack while the other raises defence and makes the next attack it uses a guaranteed critical.

Once those stats are increased they should stay that way too as Metagross will have the Impervious passive, which protects its stats from being lowered. It sounds like a promising Sync Pair, particularly for singleplayer where you'll be able to pick specific Sync Pairs that help can pave the way for Metagross to do its thing.

Finally, the second tweet revealed that there will be another new Sync Pair that will arrive on 14th February. This duo you will be able to get simply by logging into the game, which was originally mentioned in the last message to players.

DeNA hasn't specifically stated who this pair will be but the silhouette you can see in the image above looks an awful lot like Professor Oak. He originally appeared in the animated trailer for the game alongside Professor Sycamore and Kukui, the latter of which was added to Pokemon Masters recently.

Pokemon Masters is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
Looking for friends in Pokemon Masters? We've got over 700 of them waiting to be added
